About

a comedy for toddlers with flying vegetables

One day Jip loves carrots, the next day carrots are the grossest thing there is. Sometimes just potatoes, other times just rice. And – ew – what are those green things in the sauce? Jip’s parents are at their wits’ end. There’s screaming and yelling and even plates of steaming mess flying through the air.

At night Jip has the most beautiful dreams. About rapping roti, a spicy pumpkin, swinging pancakes and singing strawberries. And about mom and dad, who, if they don’t start acting normal very quickly, will end up in the meat grinder. You can probably make very tasty hamburgers of them. Or meatballs for soup. What a feast that would make…

Eet Je Bord Leeg (‘Finish your plate’) is a bittersweet comedy with drippy peas, slimy lettuce, spongy sprouts and spit-up spaghetti. A delicious snack for gourmands from ages 4 to 104.

”I have been a father for some time now and I know how important the issue of eating or not eating is. Should you force or encourage your child? Seduce or let go? I really feel like making crazy, visual, absurd scenes about this. With lots of movement, music, jokes and antics. And maybe no text at all?” Paul Knieriem, director
