Konzert Theater Bern
Music for a dance piece by Ryan Djojokarso. Made for the full ensemble of the Konzert Theater Bern, commissioned after winning the first Berner Tanzpreiz in 2014.
About
‘Space does not exist, you have to create it’.
Coming from an artists family from the Bergell, Alberto Giacometti became one of the most important sculptors of the 20th century. In his distinctive sculptures Giacometti takes the human body as starting point and subjects it to a close inspection.
This dance piece is based on Giacometti’s statements about the creative process, with the focus on the incessant movement in space as well as the spatial interplay between compression and expansion.
